Jesus, "The Lamb of God"!

Question: What is the meaning of “The Lamb of God” in John Chapter one according to John?

It is referring to “The Lamb of God” (Christ Jesus), “Who takes away the sins of the world”! Jhn.1:29!

The precedent for the meaning is in Exodus 12:13–14; where the Blood of the “Passover Lamb” was to be smeared over the door lintel and side posts of Jewish houses; and the “angel of death” sent from God “passed over” those houses!  But, where the Blood was not smeared, which included Egyptian homes, the “first born child” was killed by the angel!

This action forced Pharaoh to release the children of Israel, and they then left Egypt to travel to the “Promised Land”!

The New Testament application is that all people who accept Jesus as Saviour and Lord, are saved from death and have Eternal Life with Christ Jesus as His Body!
